About The Map

Advanced Ceramics Ecosystem Map

The Advanced Ceramics Ecosystem Map project is an online map of organisations operating across the advanced materials, ceramics, and manufacturing landscape. Its purpose is to make the breadth of national capability visible in one place, supporting stronger connections across industry, research, and the public sector.

By bringing together organisations with different roles in the supply chain, the map helps users identify potential collaborators, suppliers, and partners. This includes both ceramics specialists and organisations that support ceramic manufacturing indirectly, such as companies producing tooling or moulds used in ceramic part production.

A key aim of the project is to demonstrate the scale and diversity of UK capability in a way that aligns with the Industrial Strategy and related Government frameworks. The visual representation brings into clearer focus how existing capability maps onto national priorities.

The map acts as both a visibility and discovery tool. It showcases participating organisations and increases their exposure within the wider advanced materials ecosystem. At the same time, it supports MICG’s role as a connector by encouraging new conversations and future collaboration.

The map focuses on organisations operating across the UK and beyond. Sector coverage includes ceramics-focused activity as well as the wider supply chain, recognising that many critical contributors do not work directly with ceramic materials but play an enabling role.

Organisations are grouped and tagged to allow searching by factors such as sector application, role within the supply chain, materials of interest, organisation size, and location. Companies may appear under multiple categories where appropriate, reflecting the cross-sector nature of advanced manufacturing.
